OUR IMPACT

Established in 2024 as a means of expanding fundraising and building capacity for Mahima India, funds raised by Friends of Mahima will support critical programs for the many children served by Mahima India.

The Critical Need for Support

According to UNICEF, millions of children around the world face sexual abuse and exploitation. Sexual violence can occur anywhere - in any country and across all segments of society.

In India, there are approximately three million sex workers, of which an estimated 40% (around 1.2 million) are children, according to India’s Central Bureau of Investigation.

Mahima India stepped in to introduce a new standard of care by providing professional, trauma-informed counseling, education, legal services, and repatriation when needed - all in a nurturing, uplifting environment.

Friends of Mahima recognizes the promise of every child.

This past year,

350 children
